Gift Guide

Sometimes, people in my life are looking for a gift to give me, or want my opinion on gifts for someone else. In the moment, I find myself extremely anxious and unable to come up with an answer. So this is a guide to giving me a gift.

I know that I'm a difficult person to give gifts. I hope this is a useful resource to those who need it.

Baron Fig Confidant Notebook

I use the confidant, 5.4” x 7.7”, hardcover, dot grid, light gray notebook. I will never have too many of these. I was introduced to them this year, and I love having one at my desk to jot down notes that would be inconvenient to type while at work. The paper's nice, the cover's thick, they lay open well on a desk, and they have a nice yellow bookmark.

Writing Collections

I love collections of writing. When I was studying writing more actively, I was almost always reading a collection of short fiction or essays. I almost never buy them for myself anymore, but I love being able to sit down for an hours and immerse myself in wonderful writing. These all come out periodically. Some every few months, others anually. I can almsot guarantee I don't have the one you pick, but I'll love reading it.

The One Book

Do you have one book that completely changed their outlook on something? The book that fundamentally altered how you live your life. Give me a copy of that book.

Board Games

If you're interested in getting me a board game, go for it. Almost anything works for me. If you're not sure what to pick, take a look at Board Game Geek's Top 100 List. I also have a personal boardgame wishlist. If you want to see if I already have a game before you buy it, you can look at a list of the games I own.

Various ‘Wish Lists’

If you're not interested in any of the above, I've got a couple of wishlists online:
